Hey beautybees! Welcome back to our cozy corner. If you’re new here, check out my first blog where I helped you identify your skin type. Now that you know you have dry, oily, combination, sensitive or normal skin, let's get into the fun part- building your skincare routine.
Step 1- Cleansing 🧼
Cleansing is where everything starts. It's essential to remove dirt, oil, makeup and impurities that accumulate on your face that give you clean slate. If you ignore proper cleansing according to your skin needs, these can clog your pores- leading to breakouts, dullness and other skin issues.
FreshhFleshh Tip: If you wear makeup or sunscreen (which you should!), double cleansing can be a game-changer. Start with an oil-based cleanser to melt away makeup and SPF, then follow up with your regular face wash or cleanser to clean everything off.
I’ll be comprehensively discussing each step of the skincare routine in separate, super-detailed blogs. Upcoming two blogs, we'll continue our journey with a more detailed discussion on cleansing—because there's so much more to uncover! So make sure you stay tuned for all the details, recommendations and tips, and trust me when I say you'll not regret it!
Step 2- Toning 🌿
This step is often overlooked, but it’s a game-changer. Toners are like prep before the main event.
After cleansing, they help remove any leftover impurities, tighten your pores, and give your skin a quick hydration. Plus, they balance your skin’s pH, making it ready to absorb all the goodness from your serums and moisturizers.
Toners are easily available in the market- hyderating toners, efoliating toners, balancing toners, calming toners.
Again, we will have it all in detail in upcoming blogs.
Step 3- Exfoliate 🌟
Exfoliating is a crucial step that helps to remove dead skin cells, revealing a brighter and smoother complexion. Exfoliating have many benefits say- removes dead skin, unclog pores, improves texture, enhances product absorption, stimulates collogin protection etc.
There are commonly two types of exfoliators available in the market- physical exfoliator and chemical exfoliator.
Step 4- Mask 🎭
Masks are like a spa treatment at home—they’re a great way to address specific skin concerns and give your skin a concentrated boost of ingredients. Masks offers a range of benefits including- deep cleaning, hyderation, brightening, calming etc.
There are many types of masks available in the market- clay mask, sheet mask, gel mask, cream mask and exfoliator mask.
Applying the mask can be one of the most relaxing step in your skincare regime.
Step 5- Treat ✨
This is one of the most personalised step in your skin care regime- TREATMENTS. Treatments are there to the rescue with wide range of ingredients that address everything from acne to fine lines according to your skin concerns.
Treatments include serums, essences etc.
They are specialised to your specific skin issues. They have many benefits for your skin ranging from dullness, acne, wrinkles to dehydration, giving your skin a boost of what it needs most.
Step 6: Moisturize💧
Final crucial step in your routine: moisturizing. This step is all about keeping your skin hydrated, soft, and protected. Moisturizing is like giving your skin a big, refreshing drink of water. It helps to: hyderate, protect and repair. Remember, moisturizing is essential for maintaining healthy, glowing skin.
You are free to customize even the steps by yourself. You can simply go for these 3 steps-
- Cleansing
- Toning
- Moisturize
Let's keep it simple and enjoy the process of healing your skin. Avoid overwhelming it with products. Instead, find a routine that lets you relax, whether in the morning or evening. Try out new products and, most importantly, have fun with it!
Don’t just copy my tips or recommendations or follow blindly what I say; make it your own. At the end of the day, it’s about finding what works best for YOU.
