Cleansing- Top 10 recommendations for Normal and Sensitive Skin type under Rs. 500!

Hey beautybees! Welcome back to my new blog.

If you’re new here, check out my previous blogs. If not, I will tag the link below.

In this blog, I will be giving some face wash and cleanser recommendations specifically for normal and sensitive skin types. These are completely based on my own experience and nothing's sponsored.

So, let's directly get into choosing the right cleanser for your skin type:

Normal Skin 🌟

Lucky you! Normal skin can handle a variety of products, but it's still important to maintain the balance. Look for gentle cleansers that won't strip away natural oils. Keep an eye out for these ingredients in your cleanser:
  • Glycerin
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Aloe vera
  • Vitamin E
  • Green tea extract
  • Chamomile
  • Rosewater

Sensitive Skin 🌸

Sensitive skin requires extra care and gentle ingredients to avoid irritation. Opt for cleansers that are free from harsh chemicals and fragrances. Look for these ingredients in your cleanser:
  • Aloe vera
  • Chamomile
  • Oatmeal
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • Cucumber extract
  • Calendula
  • Licorice root extract
  • Niacinamide
Before we dive into the product recommendations, just one more thing: I have rated the products (out of 5) based on my personal experience with them and arranged them from highest to lowest rating. Again, I have used all of them, and this is just about sharing my honest experiences—results may vary from person to person.
All the products listed below are suitable for men and women.

 1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser- 5/5

I have discussed this in detail in my blog "Cleansing: Top 10 recommendations for Dry Skin under Rs. 350"  (https://freshhfleshhglowup.blogspot.com/2024/05/cleansing-top-10-recommendations-for.html) and I recommend this to combination skin buddies as well (https://freshhfleshhglowup.blogspot.com/2024/06/cleansing-top-10-recommendations-for_3.html). And I highly recommend it for the  Normal and Sensitive Skin types.

Dear Normal and Sensitive skin type- "This product deserves your favourite spot in your skincare routine".

It has a unique consistency that falls between a gel and a cream, making it easy to apply and spread across the face without feeling too heavy or too light. Completely fragrance-free, it's a boon for those with sensitive skin or an aversion to scented products. The gentle formula effectively removes dirt, excess oil, and pollutants without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

This balance is crucial for normal and sensitive skin, where maintaining the skin's moisture barrier is key. Niacinamide and Vitamin B5 are standout ingredients for their hydrating and soothing properties. This cleanser ensures the skin remains nourished while controlling oil in the T-zone. After a long day, it provides a relaxing experience, leaving the skin feeling clean and refreshed. It removes makeup, SPF residues, and other impurities without the harshness of typical foaming cleansers. While it doesn’t lather much, its creamy texture feels good on the skin and does its job well.

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a versatile and reliable option for those with normal and sensitive skin. Its ability to balance hydration and cleansing makes it suitable for year-round use, with minor adjustments needed during different seasons. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a fantastic choice for individuals looking for a gentle, effective cleanser. Its blend of niacinamide and Vitamin B5 ensures your skin remains healthy, clean, and balanced. Give it a try and experience the benefits of a well-formulated cleanser designed to meet the needs of normal and sensitive skin.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 100 gm will easily continue for 1.5 to 2 months.

Ingredients list- Aqua, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Pantolactone, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Benzoate,  Citric Acid. FIL.1747.V00

2. CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser- 5/5 ⭐

I have talked about this brand too much now that I feel hesitant to again mention it, but what can I do, it's worth it!

It comes in a basic white bottle with a pump dispenser. One pump is sufficient for a single use, making it convenient and easy to control the amount of product dispensed. The design is simple yet inviting to the eye, with clever use of colour.

The cleanser has a light, gel-like consistency that foams up nicely when mixed with water. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy, which is a plus for oily skin types. However, if you prefer a rich, creamy lather, this might feel too light. After washing, my skin feels clean but not stripped, striking a fine balance between removing excess oil and maintaining hydration. It effectively melts away makeup and SPF without difficulty.

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser is anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic, making it suitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin. While it is soap- and fragrance-free as the product claims, it does have a calming fragrance from the natural ingredients. Many users may not even notice it, so it can be considered almost fragrance-free.

One user noted, "Over the month, I noticed fewer breakouts and an overall smoother texture. My skin felt more balanced and less shiny throughout the day." This feedback highlights its effectiveness in maintaining skin clarity and balance.

Let's just talk about it's key ingredients real quick-
  • Hyaluronic Acid- It hydrates the skin by retaining moisture, which is crucial even for oily skin. It also keeps your skin plump and hydrated without adding extra oil.
  • Ceramides- It helps restore and maintain the skin’s natural barrier. It protects your skin from environmental aggressors and helps lock in moisture.
  • Niacinamide- This helps to calm the skin and reduce inflammation. It reduces redness and irritation, making it perfect for acne-prone skin.
You can purchase this from the link attached below. One bottle of 88 ml can continue for approximately 2 months if you wash it twice daily.

Ingredient list- Water, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Propanediol, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Glycerin, Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Carbomer, Niacinamide, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cholesterol, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Phytosphingosine, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin

3. Johnson's Face Care Daily Essentials Refreshing Gel Wash- 4.5/5 ⭐

This comes in a sleek, transparent plastic bottle with a flip-top cap. This packaging is both practical and user-friendly. The bottle's transparency allows you to see how much product is left, which is always handy. The flip-top cap ensures that you can easily dispense the right amount of gel without any mess, making it ideal for use both at home and on the go.

The gel has a clear, non-sticky texture that feels cool on the skin. It lathers moderately, which is great for those who prefer a little foam but not too much.

I used it twice daily, morning and night. A small amount goes a long way, making it economical. My skin felt hydrated and fresh after each wash. It removed everyday dirt and oil effectively, leaving my skin feeling clean but not tight. No irritation or redness, which is a major plus for a very sensitive skin type (like I have).

As per my personal experience with the product- The gel wash provides adequate hydration without making the skin feel greasy. It’s gentle enough to prevent winter dryness, maintaining a balanced moisture level. In hot and humid weather, it keeps the skin feeling refreshed and clean. For those with sweat a lot in summer, it may not be sufficient to remove heavy makeup or SPF residue on its own. Pairing it with a deeper cleanser might be beneficial for a more thorough cleanse.

This is a fantastic daily cleanser for normal and sensitive skin. Its refreshing gel formula, combined with its gentle yet effective cleansing action, makes it an ideal choice for those looking for a reliable and affordable face wash. Whether you use it year-round or pair it with other cleansers during different seasons, it’s a versatile addition to any skincare routine. The practical and travel-friendly packaging is an added bonus, making it a must-try product for anyone seeking a refreshing cleanse.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 150 gm will easily continue for 2 to 2.5 months.

Ingredients list- Aqua, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Betaine, Lauryl Glucoside, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Mannitol, Panthenol, Glyceryl Oleate, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Copper Gluconate, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Coco-Glucoside, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Polysorbate 20, Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Cellulose, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Triethyl Citrate, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum, CI 73360, CI 77007, CI 77891.

4. Dot & Key Watermelon & Vitamin C Face Wash Gel- 4/5 ⭐

This comes in an attractive, brightly coloured tube that is easy to use and travel-friendly. The flip-top cap ensures that you can dispense the right amount of product without any mess. The packaging is not only practical but also visually appealing, making it a delightful addition to your skincare routine. The gel has a translucent pink hue and a refreshing watermelon scent that is subtle and not overpowering. It lathers into a gentle foam when mixed with water.

I used this facewash for my PM routine quite a few months back and this worked great on my sensitive skin. A small amount was sufficient to cleanse my entire face. It rinsed off easily without leaving any residue. I personally like all the products of Dot&Key. My skin felt hydrated and refreshed after each use. It effectively removed dirt and excess oil without stripping my skin. I did not experience any irritation or redness, which is important for normal and sensitive skin. The gel cleanser provided adequate hydration during the colder months without causing dryness. In hot and humid weather, it kept my skin feeling clean and refreshed, making it suitable for year-round use. Though it has a gel consistency it did not dry my skin out even for a single day.

And hence, this one is a refreshing and nourishing cleanser suitable for normal and sensitive skin types. Its lightweight gel formula, enriched with watermelon extract and Vitamin C, ensures effective cleansing while hydrating and brightening the skin. Whether you use it daily or seasonally, it provides a delightful cleansing experience that leaves your skin feeling clean, fresh and rejuvenated.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 100 ml will easily continue for 1.5 to 2 months.

Ingredients list- Aqua, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (and) Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (and) Benzophenone-3 (and) Phospholipids, Diethylhexyl Carbonate, Titanium Dioxide (and) Silica, Glyceryl Citrate/Lactate/Linoleate/Oleate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Glycerin, Propanediol, Polyacrylate-13 (and) Polyisobutene (and) Polysorbate 20, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer 6 , Ascorbyl Glucoside , Fructooligosaccharides (and) Beta Vulgaris Root Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Terminalia Ferdinandiana (Kakadu Plum) Fruit Extract, Citrus Cinennsis (Blood Orange) Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol , Ethylhexylglycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid.

5. The Derma Co. X Dr V Skin Renew Peptide Anti-Pollution Face Wash- 4/5 ⭐

This comes in a sleek, teal-coloured bottle with a pump dispenser. The aesthetic teal color is unique and attractive, standing out among other products on your skincare shelf. The pump dispenser is practical, making it easy to use and minimizing wastage. The face wash has a creamy texture with a subtle, pleasant fragrance. It lathers well and feels gentle on the skin during application.

I used this face wash in my daily skincare routine, using it twice daily. It effectively cleansed my skin without causing any irritation or dryness (good for dry skin too!). My skin felt adequately hydrated and comfortable after each use, thanks to the presence of niacinamide. It removed dirt and excess oil without leaving my skin feeling stripped. I did not experience any redness or sensitivity, making it suitable for my sensitive skin. During the colder months, the face wash maintained my skin's hydration levels without causing any dryness.
In the hotter months, it helped in controlling excess oil and keeping my skin feeling fresh and clean.

FreshhFleshh Tip-  Follow up with a lightweight moisturizer to lock in hydration.

Its key ingredients include- Peptides, Niacinamide, Salicylic Acid and Pollustop

It  is a reliable choice for normal and sensitive skin types. Its peptide and niacinamide-rich formula ensures effective cleansing while protecting and hydrating the skin. Whether used daily or seasonally, it provides a refreshing cleanse that leaves your skin feeling clean, balanced, and rejuvenated.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 100 ml will easily continue for 1.5 to 2 months.

Ingredients list- Aqua, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Dextran, Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Sodium Benzoate, Methoxycinnamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Salicylic Acid, Betaine, Sodium Gluconate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Biosaccharide Gum-4, Panthenol and Hyaluronic Acid

6. Minimalist 7% Alpha Lipoic+ Glycolic Brightening Face Wash- 3.5/5 ⭐

This face wash comes in a sleek, minimalist white bottle with a pump dispenser. The pump is convenient for controlling the amount of product used and maintaining hygiene. The clean design reflects the brand's straightforward and effective approach to skincare. The face wash has a gel-like consistency with a mild, refreshing scent. It produces a light lather when mixed with water and feels smooth on the skin.

This cleanser boasts a powerful combo of Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) and Glycolic Acid (AHA). ALA is an antioxidant superhero that fights free radicals and brightens your skin, like a tiny internal Pac-Man gobbling up dullness.  Glycolic Acid, an AHA, gently buffs away dead skin cells, revealing a smoother, brighter you – kind of like a super gentle facial power washer.

This cleanser doesn't stop at brightening and exfoliating.  Vitamin B5 acts like a moisture magnet, keeping your skin plump and hydrated. So you're not just getting a brighter complexion, you're getting a glow that comes from within.

The good news is, that this cleanser could be a game-changer for folks with normal skin who want a brighter, smoother look.  For those with sensitive skin, tread carefully!  The AHA might be a little too much for some.  Always do a patch test first, just to be safe.  Here's the thing: even if it works, don't expect overnight miracles.  Brightening and exfoliation take time and consistency, so be patient!

If you have normal skin and are looking for a brightening and exfoliating boost, this cleanser could be your new BFF.  For sensitive skin? Maybe start with a friendship bracelet – try a patch test first!

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 100 ml will easily continue for 1.5 to 2 months.

Ingredients list- Aqua, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propanediol, Glycolic Acid, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Thioctic Acid, Betaine, Pentylene Glycol, Panthenol, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide

7. Love Beauty & Planet Vitamin C & Mandarin Face Cleanser- 3.5/5 ⭐

You will not hear me talking about this brand much (unless we are talking about shampoos) but this face cleanser really works wonders.

Eco-conscious consumers will appreciate this cleanser's commitment to sustainability. The bottle is made from recycled plastic, a small but significant step towards reducing plastic waste. The design is simple yet attractive, featuring bright citrus colours that reflect the cleanser's mandarin theme.

Unlike traditional cleansers that lather up richly, the Love Beauty & Planet Vitamin C & Mandarin Face Cleanser offers a more gentle experience. The texture is gel-like, smooth, and easy to spread across the face. The mandarin scent is refreshing and invigorating, but not overpowering, making it suitable for those with sensitive noses.

This cleanser is formulated with sensitive skin in mind, free of harsh ingredients like soap, parabens, and dyes. While the exact concentrations remain undisclosed, the star ingredients are Vitamin C and mandarin extract. Vitamin C is a well-known antioxidant that helps brighten the skin and even out tone, while mandarin extract offers a refreshing and potentially mildly astringent quality.

This one is gentle on the skin, removes extra oil and keeps your skin hydrated with regular use, you can see brighter shades and fewer breakouts.

As per my personal experience, I did not expect this product to be of this high quality but it is! I don't have much to say but this is worth a try and you might end up buying a second bottle of this. It provides a gentle and refreshing cleansing experience for sensitive and normal skin. The natural ingredients and eco-friendly packaging are a plus.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 190 ml will easily continue for 2 to 3 months if used daily twice.

Ingredients list- Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Isethionate, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Acacia Decurrens Flower Extract, BHT, Capric Acid, Caprylic Acid, Cocos Nucifera Water, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Lauric Acid, Parfum, PEG-150 Distearate, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, PEG-4, PEG-4 Dilaurate, PEG-4 Laurate, Phenoxyethanol, PPG-2 Hydroxyethyl Cocamide, PPG-9, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Isethionate, Sodium Lauroyl Glycinate, Stearic Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Zinc Oxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene.

8. Nivea Milk Delight Rose Water Face Wash- 3.5/5 ⭐

This comes in a soft, white and pastel pink bottle with a secure flip-top cap. The bottle design is compact and travel-friendly, ensuring that the product remains spill-proof. The gentle and inviting appearance of the packaging reflects the soothing nature of the face wash itself.

The face wash has a creamy texture and a subtle, natural rose fragrance that is both calming and pleasant. It creates a mild lather that feels smooth and gentle on the skin.

As per my personal experience- The product spread easily across my face and rinsed off without leaving any residue. It effectively cleansed my skin without making it feel tight or dry. My skin felt soft and hydrated after each wash, thanks to the milk proteins. After using this for a month skin feels hydrated, and cleansed and does not experience any irritation or redness, thanks to milk and rose.

Well, I don't have much to say about the product, but you can absolutely try this one and if you have used you can drop your detailed review in the comment!

9. SkinKraft Normal Skin Syndet Face Cleanser with Papaya and Aloe Vera- 3/5 ⭐

Again, you will not hear much about this brand from me but if I am putting this down here, then yes this product is top-notch.

It is formulated specifically for those with, well, normal skin! Unlike traditional soap-based cleansers, syndets are synthetic detergents that offer a gentler cleansing experience. They are less likely to disrupt the skin's natural pH balance, making them ideal for normal and sensitive skin.

This comes in a very attractive blue-ish and green-ish mix kind of colour with a pump that makes it easy to dispense. Its key ingredients include- syndet formula, papaya extract, rose and aloe vera. This makes it absolutely suitable for sensitive as well as normal skin!

They are gentle yet effective cleansing for normal skin, help maintain the skin's natural moisture balance and provide a subtle brightening effect (depending on the specific ingredients used). The face cleanser has a creamy texture and a mild, pleasant fragrance. It lathers into a gentle foam when mixed with water.

As per my personal experience- This face cleanser feels really nice on skin, removes all the excess oil and does not make my skin feel dry at all (though I have dry skin). During the colder months, the face cleanser helped maintain my skin's hydration levels and prevented any dryness. In the hotter months, it effectively controlled excess oil and kept my skin feeling fresh and clean.

This one is a reliable choice for those with normal skin. Its syndet formula ensures effective cleansing while maintaining the skin's natural barrier. Whether used daily or seasonally, it provides a gentle cleanse that leaves your skin feeling clean, balanced and refreshed.

If I missed anything, just drop a comment.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 60 ml will easily continue for 1 to 1.5 months if used daily twice.

10. UNDERATED Brightening Gel Face Wash Powered With Vitamin C L-Ascorbic Acid, Mulberry, Green Tea And Natural Aha And Bha Complex- 3/5 ⭐

Ever feel like your cleanser is all talk and no action? We've all been there. But what if a hidden hero is waiting to be discovered?

The Brightening Gel Face Wash doesn't come in flashy packaging, but sometimes simple is best! It comes in a sleek pump bottle – something that looks classy in your bathroom but isn't bulky or wasteful.

Now, the good stuff: is the texture! This cleanser is a lightweight gel, kind of like a refreshing aloe vera drink for your face. It's not going to lather up like crazy (which can be a good thing for sensitive skin!), but it should spread easily and leave your skin feeling clean and comfortable.

Its key ingredients include- Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid), Mulberry, Green Tea and Natural AHA & BHA Complex.

It balances your skin's pH, diminishes blemishes, hydrates and refreshes. This cleanser could be a game-changer for those with normal skin who want to brighten and clear things up. The natural ingredients might be gentle, but a patch test is crucial due to the potential irritants.

As the name of the brand, this face wash is too underrated but it really has a unique combination of ingredients that I have seen in very less face washes. This has a bunch of intriguing ingredients that can brighten, exfoliate, and hydrate your skin. While it seems promising for normal skin types and potentially some sensitive skin, the lack of details and the presence of potentially irritating ingredients require caution.

Well if you still can't make up your mind scroll down and check the ingredient lists.

You can purchase this from the link below. One bottle of 100 ml will easily continue for 2 to 2.2.5 months if used daily twice.

Ingredient List- Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Glycerin, L Ascorbic Acid (Vit C), Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Morus Alba Root (Mulberry) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea) Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/Leaf Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugarcane) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

And there you have it, folks! These are my top 10 face cleansers for normal and sensitive skin, all under Rs. 500. Each product offers something special, from the soothing benefits of rose water to the hydrating properties of aloe vera. The key to maintaining healthy skin is consistency and finding a routine that suits your specific needs.
